It is a laboratory with the aim of supporting the technological transfer from research to organizations interested in the adoption of auto identification systems, in particular RFId (Radio Frequency Identification) systems, to improve internal processes and take advantage of intra and inter-organizational collaboration practices. The laboratory was activated in 2007 thanks to the contributions of the Chamber of Commerce of Varese and Regione Lombardia, and to the collaboration of Unione degli Industriali della Provincia di Varese. Lab#ID completed several projects within the supply chain context, both in mature areas of Auto-ID and traceability applications and in more innovative areas such as real-time localization and Near Field Communication.
Lab#ID is particularly focused on SMEs, aiming at the improvement of their competitiveness, speeding up the adoption of modern technologies, and facilitating the matching between technology innovation and organizational changes.
